Let's take it back a while... Back in the day during the off season (Yankees, off season that is), Jason was taking a well deserved vacation. This wasn't your fancy type vacation, more of a head cleaning vacation. While pondering issues to include in his (award winning) novel, Jason stopped to watch a USA Women's Soccer Game. That is where he noticed a beautiful little astro turf angel (Amanda)...
She was a little more "athletic" than Jason, but you have to remember: soccer is much different than baseball! This didn't stop Jason however, he told himself right there and then that this was the "one". He called his agent and arranged a meeting. Upon meeting Jason, Amanda eyeballed his daper appearance and quickly asked, "You like kids?"; from there, the relationship blossomed.
After being together for a brief 5 years they moved to Stanhope NJ, they married and thought about starting a family. Which now catches you up to today; still married, they now have 2 kids, Jake & Kayla, a dog - Simba and 2 cats - Pumba and Nala. Jason has since retired from the Yankees (hall of fame status soon) and Amanda has hung up her cleats (only after shooting the winning goal in the Womens World Cup) to become a "soccer mom".
